A practical journey to explore

A CLOSER LOOK

Make stock and asset questions answerable.

What was ordered? What arrived? What was issued, and where is the asset now? VidyOmni gives those events distinct records so stores and administration teams can inspect the movement instead of relying on a single editable balance.

Item masters

Define item codes, categories, units of measure and reorder levels. Establish the stock policy before transactions begin.

Purchase review

Prepare purchase orders with vendor references, quantities and prices. Follow submission and approval before receiving against the order.

Receipts and issues

Record received quantities into a warehouse and issue stock with a source and reason. Availability checks follow the configured negative-stock policy.

Asset lifecycle

Maintain tags, serial numbers, locations, custodians, acquisition values and warranty dates. Record supported maintenance, retirement and disposal states.

HOW IT WORKS

A traceable route from order to institutional use.

Separate purchasing, receipt, stock movement and asset responsibility.

IN PRACTICE · 01

Give stores and administration a shared record.

Quantity, custody and condition are different questions and deserve different context.

For purchasing

Keep ordered quantities and prices attached to a reviewed order. Compare the receipt to the order context before accepting goods.

For stores

Use warehouse-specific movements to explain stock balances. Retain a source and reason when stock leaves the store.

For asset owners

Identify the tagged asset, its recorded location and custodian. Record maintenance and end-of-use changes through supported lifecycle actions.

COMMON QUESTIONS

A few details
worth getting right.

Questions about your institution’s exact setup? Prepare a focused request.

Find the right contact route
Does an approved purchase order automatically increase stock?

No. The goods-receipt operation records received quantities into the relevant warehouse. Approval and physical receipt are distinct events.

Can stock issues create a negative balance?

The item model includes an explicit negative-stock setting and the issue workflow checks availability against that policy. Agree and test the intended policy for your item categories.

Does this include depreciation and a complete procurement suite?

A full RFQ, quotation comparison, accounts-payable matching and depreciation engine is not promised here. The described scope covers item masters, purchase orders, receipt, issue and supported asset lifecycle records.
