Connected capabilities

Make the route, manifest and trip status clear.

Plan institutional transport, record passenger movements and manage trip exceptions with the learner manifest in context.

THE CONNECTED INSTITUTION

A clearer path through the work.
  1. 01
    Define the route

Confirm stop sequence, route version and the location details you intend to use.

  2. 02
    Prepare the trip

Assign the crew, vehicle, capacity, scheduled start and learner manifest.

  3. 03
    Record the operation

Start the trip and capture supported passenger events and operational exceptions.

  4. 04
    Review the trip status

Inspect occupancy, latest received telemetry and the recorded completion or exception state.

A practical journey to explore

A CLOSER LOOK

A transport operation is more than a point on a map.

A useful trip record identifies the route, vehicle, crew, expected learners and operational state. VidyOmni connects those details with boarding events and received location data so authorized users can understand what the record actually shows.

Routes and ordered stops

Define versioned routes with stop codes, sequence and optional location information. Use an active route when preparing the trip.

A prepared manifest

Assign the vehicle reference, driver, optional attendant, capacity and institutional learner list. Review the trip before it enters operation.

Boarding and exceptions

Record supported board and alight events against the manifest. Retain delay, diversion, breakdown, completion or cancellation decisions with reasons.

Scoped trip information

Give authorized learners and guardians the supported My Bus view. Received telemetry includes its timestamp and simulation state so stale or simulated information is distinguishable.

HOW IT WORKS

Prepare the service before the trip starts.

Keep passenger records and operational events attached to a known trip.

IN PRACTICE · 01

Keep the meaning of transport information visible.

A timestamp, a manifest and a reason help people interpret the current trip record.

Transport coordinators

Review expected passengers and capacity before operation. Track the explicit trip state and reasoned exception events.

Trip operators

Record boarding or alighting against the learner manifest. Supported checks reject invalid passenger sequences and preserve event source information.

Authorized families

Use the linked learner’s My Bus information rather than a public fleet list. Review the latest available location timestamp and its status before interpreting the position.

COMMON QUESTIONS

A few details
worth getting right.

Questions about your institution’s exact setup? Prepare a focused request.

Find the right contact route
Is a live GPS tracker included automatically?

No. Location depends on a configured device or provider sending valid trip telemetry. Confirm the hardware, connection, update frequency and stale-data behavior before offering live tracking to families.

Can a learner board a trip they are not assigned to?

The supported passenger workflow checks the trip manifest, event sequence and capacity rules. Prepare and review the manifest and any exceptional capacity policy before the trip starts.

Can anyone view a child’s bus location?

The learner-facing My Bus view uses learner and verified-guardian scope. Review family relationships and access responsibilities during rollout; it is not a public transport-location page.
